Glass Flower, Garden Art, Glass Garden Flower, Glass Plates, Ceramic Flower, Sun Catcher, Yard Art, #flower garden My unique glass art flowers are created using a combination of recycled and repurposed glassware that I have found at estate sales, thrift stores and auctions. They are made to be displayed indoors on a suitable plate stand or wall hanger { which can be purchased at your local craft store for a few dollars}. Or I prefer to display them outdoors where they can be enjoyed in your garden. Outdoors you can place them on a stake. I prefer a 4 foot painted rebar stake with at least 8-12 inches pushed into the ground for stability. Or you can use a copper or bamboo if you prefer all of which can be purchased at your local hardware store. My flowers are easy care no watering or weeding required. They may be hand washed and towel dried. Your beautiful creation is made to be enjoyed outdoors in almost all weather. However I do recommend bringing it indoors if a hail storm or tornado may be stopping by. As my flowers are made from repurposed and vintage glass they may have slight imperfections which only add to the character of the piece. This smoky yard art flower is 10 inches in diameter. It is composed of a large smoky serving bowl, a small lattice white with gold trim plate, a clear glass candle holder and a rose small vase as the center. The flower is put together with an outdoor silicone adhesive and had a small bottle on the back to place on the stem you select. It will accommodate up to a 3/4″ stem. I use rebar, however you can use a copper pipe or even a straight piece of bamboo.

It’s All About Appliqu?!
detail. My Flower Garden, by Tomoko Ota; Telling Stories Through the Needle’s Eye: It’s All About Appliqu?! Well, one last visit to the incredible quilt exhibit at the International Quilt Festival in Houston, 2018—and I (Teri) am happy to say that the focus is on appliqu? quilts. It appears as though appliqu? is alive and well within the quilting universe! While I have rarely met a quilt I didn’t like, there is something special about studying the spectacular detail in an appliqu?d piece. The intricacies of the art are a joy to behold, and the bodies of work in these exhibits were no exception. Such work involves great dedication and time, not to mention talent. I am in awe of the work these artists put into these exquisite quilts. Enjoy! In the American Tradition, Appliqu?d Quilts: A World of Beauty, Appliqu? category Not only was the variety of techniques used in these quilts impressive, but I was thrilled to see so many Baltimore Album style quilts. As we replicate the work of our past stitching sisters, we stay connected to them and forge ahead to learn new needle skills. Appliqu? is an art that can continually push the limits; the old is not gone, but it is made new—with plenty of room for brand new ideas and skills. It’s all about the appliqu?!
