No way! I did this last Christmas by our fireplace! I got the extra small lights, connected to a battery switch so there was no visible cord. The bucket I have is a beat up old wood bucket from World Market. Pine cones are easy to find around fall, got mine at Dillons (Kroger), cinnamon scented! Lolly loves!
