Nduda figure, Kongo culture, late 19th C. Wood, glass, leather, feathers, cloth. Staatliches Museum feur Volkerkunde, Munich. This figure was used by Congolese hunters and warriors of the Kongo Kingdom (14th C – 20th C). There are mirrors underneath the animal strips aimed at reflecting spiritual forces.
