G.I Braid 7strand paracord. I recommend developing a color and length system to make things easy when it really counts. I pack precut black 10′ lengths and dark green 5′ lengths in my BOB. I know exactly what length I’m grabbing by color and I tie a different knot for the two so I can identify them in the dark.
