***Holiday commissions are open! If you’d like a custom portrait for the holiday season, please make sure I receive your order by Friday, the 30th of November. After that date, I’ll do my best, but I can’t guarantee your portrait will arrive in time for Christmas.*** I love painting animals. I grew up with a menagerie, and I have always been fascinated by the colours & textures of feathers & fur and the fun little quirks that make each creature unique. My favourite muse is my little black Diesel kitten. Being adorable is her job, and she takes it very seriously. Painting my own kitty inspired me to start painting pets for friends and family as well; through Clockwork Art I now have the pleasure of painting animals from all over the world! Photorealistic in quality and expressive in style, my portraits capture the distinctive personalities of the amazing animals I encounter. The price shown is for a 12″ x 16″ portrait on cold press watercolour paper (up to 4 subjects). Additional sizes and corresponding prices are available in the Custom Portraits section of my Etsy shop. http://www.etsy.com/shop/ClockworkArtShop?section_id=11381766 You will receive: *The original watercolour + custom cut mat *Hi res scan so you can make prints if you wish *Web file with my watermark (I ask that any images shared online include my watermark) *The exclusive rights to your pet’s image. I reserve the right to include any portraits I paint in my portfolio, but I will not reprint your portrait for resale without your consent. THE PROCESS: 1. Let me know you’d like a portrait 2. Send me pictures & specify any special requests 3. Purchase your portrait 4. I draw out the composition in pencil (image confirmation emailed upon request) 5. I paint the rest of the portrait (image confirmation emailed) 6. You confirm your portrait & request any minor adjustments 7. I make any adjustments, email you the final scan, mat it, pack it & send it your way! ***BEFORE YOU PLACE YOUR ORDER*** Please email me a few high-quality pictures of your pet. The better the lighting and detail, the more accurate your portrait will be. One of the photos will be the basis of my composition, but I prefer to work from a variety of images and a description of your pet’s personality, so that I can do my best to get to know them from as many angles as possible. 🙂 Please allow 3-4 weeks for completion of your portrait (from the date we decide on an image, not necessarily the date you place your order). I can often complete your portrait earlier than the scheduled shipping date, but my weekly studio time varies depending on my current art exhibit & convention commitments. ***Please let me know in advance if you need your portrait by a certain date, and I will do my very best to work within your time frame.*** My portraits are shipped matted, flat & unframed. I use traditional, archival, acid-free materials. 12×16 paintings include mats that fit standard 16×20 frames. Etsy allows you to choose your preferred shipping method through the Post Office, and calculates shipping cost based on your location (both domestic & international). I am happy to arrange a local pick-up (no shipping charge) if you’re in the Seattle area. Feel free to ask me any questions, either before ordering or at any time during the process. You can contact me via Etsy or email: clockworkartshop [at] gmail.com. You can see more of my work at www.clockworkart.com Cheers!
